Ni Zheng
ni zheng (b. 1997, cn) is a sound artist and composer of electroacoustic music and musique concrete. she creates sonic rituals and explores an artistic praxis that calls for a descent into the untamed territory, dwells in the repressed emotions and intuitive senses, and invites cathartic and therapeutic experiences. her work is devoted to endorsing immanence and absolute knowledge, nurturing and celebrating the mysterious alliance with the invisible realm of nature, and igniting a meditative or mystical state of ecstasy. her medium of communication includes sounds gathered through field recordings, voices of human and non-human animals, found objects, electronic and acoustic instruments.
she currently lives in san diego, california attending a phd program in music composition at UC San Diego.
